What Happened?

The protagonist is Thyris Klashica, she is an orphan that grew in an orphanage with her best friend Amare Recessit in the Sopio Village.

The two were actually survivor of another village that was wiped out by bandits, Amare killed bandit attacking Thyris, but lost her eyes in the process. Amare never regretted losing her eyes for thyrsi, but Thyris never forgave herself for the incident, so she had always stayed with Amare and took care of her.

The two were always together.

The Village they lived in had an annual tradition, a festival to celebrate the day ‘God’ blessed their world.

The festival is based on a myth that the world had been destroyed once before, a long time ago, and then rebuilt by ‘God’. They said, ‘God’ was once a human too. Every year they would do a play in the Village square as the main event, depicting the myth with the lead role picked by lottery every year.

This year, it was Amare’s turn.

On the day of the festival, everything is going well up until the climax of the story, when a portal suddenly rips open the sky.

A man steps out from the portal.

Everyone was in awe, is this man the so called ‘God’ from the myth? Why is he here?

The man looks over the Village from the sky, and after several minutes of pure silence, he only sighed sadly and said, “The Hero isn’t born in this world.” And left by the same portal.

Before anyone can start processing what exactly had happened, suddenly the sky turned dark and storm clouds starts forming.

People started screaming as the 1st bolt struck down. “FIRE! FIRE!” It has lit a house on fire, and it’s spreading fast. Not even the downpour following can kill the fire off, it just adds to the chaos.

As if those weren’t bad enough, the land itself turned against them and broke open. The ground itself shook and swallowed anything above it.

Those who escaped the fire are struck down by thunder, those lucky enough to not get struck are swallowed by the earth. Thyris for the 1st time in her life was glad Amare cannot see the disaster happening in front of them.

As the two ran from the fire, the thunders, the earthquake, Amare had to be lead by Thyris because she can’t see, and then unfortunately their escape attempt are cut short by a falling debris.

Amare pushed Thyris away.

Her body is crushed between the debris and the ground, but she didn’t die yet. Thyris screamed as blood puddles started forming under Amare. She keeps trying to push off the debris around her best friend body, but it’s a futile attempt.

Amare knew it’s useless to save her, she begs Thyris to leave her and just escape. The other girl keeps crying and refusing to leave, even as the ground fissure came closer and closer to them. Then Amare began to talk to Thyris about their life together.

From the moment she gave up her eyes to save Thyris, how Thyris always held her hand and described everything to her, how no matter what happened Thyris is always by her side.

“You have saved me countless times.” “But I didn’t do anything, YOU are the one who saved me!” As Thyris held Amare’s hand, it grew colder and colder, she held her best friend body in her arms as two of them knew what will happen next.

“The days I spent with you is my greatest treasure. Your voice is the light in my life. Thank You, Thyris, I am glad I have you by my side.”

The hand she was holding on to grew limp.

It’s cold.

She didn’t even notice the earthquake stopped, nor the fire, nor the thunder.

Amare died.

She didn’t know how long she stared at her smiling face. It doesn’t matter.

She stared at the rift in the sky.

Never forgive Never forgive Never forgive

I will kill him.
